Fifa Match Fixing

Although online gambling may not be a huge problem in soccer, they have more sever problems.  In the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, a referee named Ibrahim Chaibou was in charge of reffing a game between South Africa and Guatemala.  Even to a neutral fans, his calls were suspicious.  He made two very controversial handball calls to give South Africa two penalties, which they converted, and won the game 2-1.  When I say controversial, I mean the ball was nowhere near the Guatemala players hands.  An investigation took place and it was discovered that more than 15 games in the World Cup qualifications were, or attempted to be rigged.  Including a game between Australia and the United States.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N39YbFzBA_M

Match fixing is a serious problem in the world of soccer.  Especially at the international level where there is more emotion and corruption between games.  Although the rigged matches often happen between poor, third world countries, they can even happen in games such as Australia vs the United States.  FIFA needs to start working on solving the match fixing scandals.  Nobody was ever brought to justice from the 2010 incidents.  Even today referees are getting accused of fixing matches,   The problem has not gotten any better.
